Account Specialist

Labcorp is seeking a Bilingual Account Specialist who can fluently speak, read, and write in both Spanish and English to join our Customer Service/Immigration Team in Burlington, NC. This position plays a key role in supporting client relationships and ensuring timely, accurate responses to inquiries.

The Account Specialist will serve clients from a variety of sectors, including State Government contract accounts, TPA (Third-Party Administrator) accounts, the Director of Consumer Market, as well as private attorneys and immigration offices, and internal customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to delivering world-class customer service.

Work Schedule: First Shift, Floating Shift Monday-Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm

Note: Overtime is required based on business needs

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Labcorp and clients/patients, providing support and resolving customer concerns
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner, following established protocols
  • Inquire, clarify, and confirm customer requests, ensuring full understanding and accurate resolution
  • Educate customers on company services and products as needed
  • Qualify and assist new inbound customers seeking DNA testing services
  • Work across multiple databases and systems to research and resolve complex inquiries
  • Notify clients of test results in a timely and accurate manner
  • Review test request forms for accuracy; identify and report discrepancies
  • Perform administrative support related to medical record management and internal records to maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance customer satisfaction and team performance

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Prior experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment, is required
  • Experience in the healthcare industry (e.g., physician's office, hospital, or medical services) is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent listening ability
  • Must be courteous, professional, and have a strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage shifting priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English, including the ability to read, write, and speak both languages clearly and accurately
