As a SOC Analyst L1, you will play a critical role in securing the systems and
data that power organizations around the world. With Kyndryl, you're not just part of any cybersecurity team - you'll be working with the latest technologies, gaining hands-on experience, and contributing to the security of clients across diverse industries.
What You'll Be Doing
Here's what your day-to-day will look like:
- Monitoring and Triage : You'll monitor live security alerts from across our global infrastructure-endpoint, cloud, network, user activity, and more. You'll review and analyze logs from tools like firewalls, proxies, antivirus, and identity systems to spot unusual behavior.
- Alert Investigation and Escalation : When an alert comes in, you'll jump into action. Is it legitimate? Is it a false positive? You'll triage, document your findings, and escalate confirmed incidents to Level 2 or Level 3 teams with all the right context, indicators, and evidence.
- Using Security Tools & Building Expertise : You'll work daily with some of the industry's top SIEMs, EDRs, and behavioral analytics platforms. You'll also contribute to improving SOPs, playbooks, and documentation-helping evolve the SOC's capabilities while building yours.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you'll also collaborate with your team to generate reports, document incidents, and contribute to a broader strategy for continuous improvement in cybersecurity.

Required Skills and Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC operations, or IT infrastructure roles with exposure to security monitoring.
- Basic understanding of networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security event types.
- Ability to analyze logs from various sources including endpoints, servers, and network devices.
- Familiarity with operating system-level security concepts on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of threat detection frameworks and incident response principles.
- Experience with log analysis, incident management systems, or user behavior analytics.
- Security certifications (e.g., foundational-level or analyst-focused) are an advantage.
