As a SOC Lead at Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of protecting our customers' computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. You will use a variety of tools and techniques to defend against a wide range of cyber threats, such as malware, ransomware, phishing attacks, and data breaches.
As SOC Lead, you'll be the tactical and operational heartbeat of the Security Operations Center. Your top three priorities will be:
- Leading Day-to-Day SOC Operations : You'll guide a skilled team of Level 1-3 analysts across multiple shifts, ensuring that threat monitoring, detection, and incident response run smoothly, 24x7. You'll manage escalations, ensure team coverage, and drive operational readiness across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid infrastructures.
- Driving Effective Incident Response : When a major incident occurs, you'll be the go-to escalation point. You'll coordinate response efforts, manage communications, lead after-action reviews, and provide concise executive updates. Your ability to stay calm under pressure will make all the difference when seconds count.
- Building SOC Capabilities for the Future : You'll lead the creation and refinement of detection use cases, response playbooks, and automation strategies. Your insights will ensure our threat detection stays ahead of adversaries, and your leadership will directly reduce our mean time to detect and respond.
You'll Also:
- Define and track key SOC metrics (MTTD, MTTR, alert volume, analyst performance).
- Ensure our operations align with regulatory and compliance standards.
- Mentor and develop a team of analysts into elite responders-building a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence.

Required Skills and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing security incidents across a broad range of threats: malware, phishing, identity misuse, network attacks, insider threats, and data loss.
- Deep knowledge of log analysis, alert correlation, behavioral detection, and incident escalation processes.
- Strong understanding of security operations frameworks, threat modeling principles, and SOC maturity models.
- Familiarity with financial services sector risk priorities and security obligations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Experience designing and operating security operations programs in large, regulated environments.
- Exposure to threat intelligence integration, detection engineering, or red/blue/purple team exercises.
- Certifications in security operations, incident response, or leadership (e.g., CSIRT, GCIH, GCIA, or similar) are advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on structured problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Able to engage effectively with technical teams, executives, and regulators.
- Organized and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
