The Role
Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Kyndryl, where we provide IT infrastructure design, implementation, and operations services to major clients across various industries.
In this role, you will be responsible not only for server system operations and maintenance, but also for driving automation in infrastructure operations. You will also play a key role in client communication and coordination within and across teams to ensure smooth project execution.
This is an ideal opportunity for those aiming to build a career as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) or Infrastructure Architect, offering hands-on experience and practical skill development.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote automation in server operations (e.g., configuration automation via scripting, process optimization)
- Provide technical support for infrastructure design and operations (on-premises and cloud environments)
- Deliver technical reports, propose solutions, and lead improvement initiatives for clients
- Manage team progress and coordinate tasks (project size: approx. 5-20 members)

Work Style
- Remote work available (with 2-3 days per week in-office attendance)
- Work location: Client sites within Tokyo's 23 wards and the greater Kanto area (subject to project assignment)

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Practical experience in server construction or operations (including operational design and procedure documentation)
Applicable to any environment such as Windows, Linux, AWS, etc. - Experience leading a team, or strong motivation to take on a leadership role
- Comfortable with reading, writing, and basic conversation in English (Support is available if needed)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing automation scripts for server operations (e.g., using Ansible, Chef)
- Understanding of or experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) activities
- Project management experience as a project leader
- Experience in client-facing roles, including negotiation and proposal activities
