The Role

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a passion for designing and architecting next-generation hybrid cloud networking solutions. This role is ideal for a highly skilled network professional who thrives on solving complex design challenges, leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance network design and operations, and delivering advanced visualization capabilities for network topology and performance. As part of our team, you will design and optimize the physical network layer in the cloud, which serves as the foundation that supports the entire application and infrastructure stack. You will collaborate closely with our network architect on architecture strategy, solution design, and technology evaluation, gaining significant exposure to high-level design work and the opportunity to influence the direction of our hybrid cloud network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the network architect to design and implement scalable hybrid cloud networking solutions
  • Define architecture standards, patterns, and best practices for the physical network layer in the cloud
  • Integrate and optimize on-premises networks with Azure native services such as vNet, vWAN, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway
  • Evaluate emerging networking technologies and assess their fit for enterprise deployment
  • Lead network design for new data center regions and major infrastructure projects, ensuring scalability and resilience
  • Perform capacity planning to anticipate growth and future-proof network designs
  • Build and maintain network visualization capabilities to provide real-time insight into topology, dependencies, and performance
  • Produce high-quality architecture documentation and detailed design diagrams to guide engineering and operations teams
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented as intended
  • Partner with security teams to ensure all designs align with enterprise security policies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that span design and implementation
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with other team members

As a Senior Network Engineer on our team, you will have the chance to work on high-impact architecture initiatives that shape the foundation of our global network. This role offers broad exposure to architectural strategy, hybrid cloud design, and industry best practices for network scalability. You will help establish design standards, create the documentation that drives consistent execution, and influence technology decisions across the organization.

Who You Are

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working with production network environments, including large-scale enterprise or cloud deployments
  • Proven expertise in architecting scalable hybrid cloud network solutions
  • Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching, specifically Juniper (SRX, EX, QFX series) and Cisco Nexus
  • Experience with spine/leaf architecture design and deployment
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Networking including vNet, vWAN, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway
  • Strong understanding of complex network topologies, high availability, and disaster recovery designs
  • Experience with F5 BIG-IP
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or workflows to improve network design, operations, or troubleshooting
  • Exceptional documentation and diagramming skills using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools
  • Ability to lead design discussions and present to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed team environment

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $96,480 to $183,240based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California:$106,080 to $219,840

Colorado: $96,480 to $183,240

New York City: $115,680 to $219,840

Washington: $106,080 to $201,480

Washington DC:$106,080 to $201,480

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
