The Role

Mainframe Performance and Capacity Management Administrator

The Role: Are you passionate about optimizing mainframe systems and ensuring efficient operations? As a Mainframe Performance and Capacity Management Administrator at Kyndryl, you will solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across various platforms and services. You will be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients globally. Combining strategic planning, coordination, and personalized support, you will play a key role in maintaining optimal system performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor usage and performance of mainframe systems by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending enhancements. Conduct capacity planning and collaborate with teams to ensure efficient mainframe operations. This role involves performance tuning, troubleshooting, and providing insights to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Client Engagement: Manage systems data for clients and provide day-to-day solutions and security compliance. Oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.
  • Technical Support: Act as a resource for clients, resolving issues, and connecting them with subject matter experts. Provide coaching on system navigation, relationship-building, and leveraging their strengths to achieve strategic goals and foster company culture.
  • Program Management: Track and report system performance progress, ensuring data accuracy and presenting updates during status calls and business unit meetings. Address concerns raised by stakeholders, offering creative solutions to enhance system performance.
  • Process Improvement: Apply innovative approaches to overcome complex challenges and continuously elevate the client experience.

Who You Are

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience in mainframe performance and capacity management, preferably in a global organization.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex, cross-functional programs or projects.
  • Experience with Intellimagic software is a strong asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and project management abilities, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, proficiency in tools and systems relevant to mainframe operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $96,480 to $183,240 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California: $106,080 to $219,840
Colorado: $96,480 to $183,240
New York City: $115,680 to $219,840
Washington: $106,080 to$201,480
Washington DC: $106,080 to $201,480

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
