The Role
Kyndryl is seeking a Mainframe Panvalet & ChangeMan Specialist with deep technical expertise in z/OS environments, JCL, Panvalet source code libraries, and ChangeMan ZMF package management. This role is critical to ensuring secure, compliant, and reliable software delivery across mainframe systems.
You will be responsible for managing source code libraries, automating software configuration management (SCM) tasks, and supporting development and operations teams through the full lifecycle of software changes.

We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Software Configuration Manager with deep expertise in Panvalet and ChangeMan ZMF to join our team. This customer-centric role is responsible for managing software configuration and change management processes across mainframe environments, ensuring smooth and compliant software delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, automation capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with developers, operations, and governance teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Panvalet libraries for source code, JCL, macros, and copybooks.
- Administer ChangeMan ZMF packages across environments (DEV → TEST → QA → PROD).
- Perform impact analysis, troubleshoot promotion failures, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Automate SCM tasks using REXX, CLIST, and JCL scripting.
- Collaborate with developers, operations, and governance teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
- Document SCM processes and provide training to ensure consistent practices.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in similar roles within mainframe environments.
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe Fundamentals: z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, datasets (PS, PDS, VSAM).
- JCL for batch jobs and utilities. Familiarity with COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Easytrieve.
- Experience with scheduling tools (Control-M, CA-7).
Panvalet (CA Panvalet):
- Expertise in managing libraries, version control, and member management.
- Use of PAN# utilities for maintenance and automation.
ChangeMan ZMF (Serena ChangeMan):
- Hands-on experience with package lifecycle management.
- Impact analysis, audit compliance, and troubleshooting.
- Automation & Scripting: REXX and CLIST scripting.
- JCL automation and dataset utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY).
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to document and train on SCM practices.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Certifications in ITIL, Six Sigma, or PMP.
Experience in staff augmentation or application services projects.
