The Role
As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and assess patch requirements and their impact on infrastructure and applications.
- Create and maintain detailed work plans and procedures based on existing design documents, past procedures, and templates.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure successful implementation of changes.
- Review customer-requested changes, provide feedback, and implement them in a timely manner.
- Execute patching and maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to system operations.
- Windows server construction using Ansible.

- Monitor and assess the impact of patches on system performance.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to schedule and coordinate patch deployments.
- Resolve issues arising from patch deployments and update failures.
- Maintain and update patch management documentation.
- Provide reports on patch management activities and system compliance.
- Conduct regular audits of patch levels and system statuses.
- System Monitoring: Monitor the status of patch deployment, identify failed patches, and coordinate remediation activities.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patching activities, including schedules, testing results, issues, and resolutions. Prepare reports for IT
- management and auditors.
- Collaboration: Work with other IT teams (network, security, and systems administrators) to ensure patches are applied consistently across all systems.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot patching issues and provide timely resolutions to any problems caused by patches.
- Patch Inventory Management: Track and maintain an inventory of patches for software and systems in use, ensuring they are up to date and applied
- regularly.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest patching tools, techniques, and best practices to continuously improve the patch management
- process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows/Linux systems administration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Create and test (check execution results) a playbook for building a Window server based on the base document.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
- Patch Deployment: Manage, test, and deploy patches for operating systems, applications, and hardware devices across the organization's network.
- Patch Scheduling: Develop and maintain a patch deployment schedule, ensuring that patches are applied in a timely and organized manner to minimize system downtime and disruption.
- Vulnerability Management: Identify vulnerabilities in systems and software by monitoring patch release notes, vendor advisories, and security bulletins.
- Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to patch management.
- Testing and Validation: Test patches in a controlled environment to ensure compatibility and stability before deployment in production environments.
- Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of experience, preferably in IT systems patch administration, security, or related roles. 1. Hands-on experience with patch management tools. 2. Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and AIX operating systems and their patching processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in managing Wintel systems in a similar role
- Experience in a high-security work environment.
- Education:- Graduation in any stream or Diploma in Engineering from recognized university with relevant experience in IT Service Delivery Management.
