The Role

The Data Governance/Privacy Operations team, within the Kyndryl Data Governance Office, is a vital part of the Legal department, responsible for ensuring compliance with global privacy regulations and operationalizing strategic data governance initiatives. This team manages data subject rights (DSR) requests, privacy inquiries, and regulatory compliance across Kyndryl's global operations.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will work closely with key stakeholders such as Human Resources, the Chief Information Office (CIO), Chief Information Security Office (CISO), Procurement, Marketing, Global Practices, and Customer Engagement teams to coordinate and optimise operations related to privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI, and supply chain management.

Your role will be instrumental in aligning operational processes with legal and regulatory requirements and business needs. Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Privacy & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Process and manage DSR and privacy-related requests from multiple channels with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide support for all type of assessments, such as privacy, risk and supplier, including triage, escalation, and resolution tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with global privacy regulations through operational execution and continuous improvement.

Strategic Initiative Execution:

  • Translate strategic data governance initiatives into operational processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain governance tools and frameworks.
  • Support the rollout and BAU management of initiatives and processes developed by the project team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner with the CIO, CISO, Procurement, HR, Marketing, and other business units to coordinate and support privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, AI, and supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with the Global Privacy and Data Governance Office and customer engagement teams to ensure operational alignment with Kyndryl's strategic and regulatory objectives.
  • Explain Kyndryl's privacy and data governance practices to business stakeholders.

Tool & Platform Management:

  • Provide expert guidance on the use of OneTrust modules.
  • Support the development, testing, and optimisation of tools and applications used for privacy operations.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

  • Maintain and update process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and communication materials.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in privacy operations.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base to support internal stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a point of contact for privacy-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with impacted parties regarding issue resolution and process updates.
  • Support training and awareness initiatives related to data governance and privacy.

Reporting & Metrics:

  • Track and report on the status of requests and operational KPIs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends and performance metrics.

To be successful in the role you'll have the following experience and skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in global privacy operations, preferably in IT, managed services, or regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Strong understanding of risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field
  • Industry certification in risk management (e.g., CRISC, CIPM) or privacy law or management (e.g., CIPP-US, CIPP-EU, CIPM) would be an advantage.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in legal, privacy, regulatory compliance, data-driven risk management or data governance.
  • Hands-on experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management platforms.
  • Experience in reporting, data visualisation, or dashboard creation.
  • Familiarity with IT security and data protection frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001/27701 implementation
