Cloud Architect
Who We Are
At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward - always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.
The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced VMware Cloud Solution Architect to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade virtualized infrastructure solutions. The role will focus on delivering robust, scalable, and secure VMware-based platforms leveraging VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and the VMware Aria Suite. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong architectural vision, and the ability to translate business requirements into high-performing, future-ready infrastructure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture governance, technology evaluations, and proof-of-concept initiatives to assess emerging VMware capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor in pre-sales, proposal creation, and executive-level discussions to influence technology direction.
- Architect, design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient VMware-based cloud solutions using VCF, vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and Aria Suite components.
- Develop blueprints and reference architectures using VCF, vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and Aria Suite to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Lead the deployment and configuration of VMware Cloud Foundation and its integrated components.
- Configure and optimize NSX-T for micro-segmentation, network virtualization, and security policy enforcement.
- Implement and manage vSAN for hyperconverged storage solutions.
- Design and implement automation workflows using Aria Automation and Aria Operations to optimize cloud operations and governance.
- Integrate Aria Suite for operations monitoring, automation, and cost optimization.
- Define and enforce VMware platform standards, operational procedures, and lifecycle management strategies.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies are aligned with business continuity objectives.
- Design and deploy VMware solutions on public cloud platforms including AVS, GCVE.
- Conduct architecture reviews and performance assessments to maintain optimal system health.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including application, network, security, and cloud engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and operational teams to build deep VMware expertise across the organization.
- Present architecture designs, roadmaps, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.
- Collaborate with application, security, and network teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.
- Ensure architectural compliance with security, regulatory, and performance standards.
- Influence and contribute to the development of VMware best practices, reference architectures, and automation strategies.
Who You Are
You're good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important - you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused - someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you're open and borderless - naturally inclusive in how you work with others.
Required Skills :
- 7-10 years of experience in VMware virtualization and cloud technologies, with 5+ years in an architect-level role.
- Strong understanding of software-defined data center principles and best practices.
- Proven hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) deployment and lifecycle management.
- Deep knowledge of vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), NSX-T (network virtualization, security policies, Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, micro-segmentation), and vSAN (stretched clusters, fault domains, storage policies).
- Proven experience designing and managing vSAN hyperconverged storage solutions.
- Experience with VMware Aria Suite (Aria Operations, Aria Operations for Logs, Aria Automation) for monitoring, automation, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, security, and storage concepts in virtualized environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware solutions on public cloud platforms such as AVS
- Extensive project experience migrating from legacy systems and deploying complex cloud-based solutions.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerCLI, PowerShell).
- Previous ownership of the technical solution architecture
- Project experience architecting, implementing, and optimizing VMware virtualized infrastructure for business teams or consumers
- Broad understanding of hybrid cloud, multi-cloud integration, and cloud-native workloads.
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
- Relevant VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP or VCDX and cloud certifications (Azure, AWS and GCP) are highly desirable.
