Policies and Procedures Manager - Associate Experience
JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead the development, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide Associate Experience policies. Ensure policies are legally compliant, culturally aligned, and designed to enhance the associate experience. Supervise a high-performing team, collaborate across divisions/business units, legal teams, and corporate Associate Experience, and serve as a key advisor on regulatory trends and workforce dynamics. Shape policies that reflect our values while proactively responding to regulatory changes and workforce trends, driving consistency, clarity and trust across the organization. - Design, implement, and maintain Associate Experience (AE) policies that are inclusive, transparent, and aligned with business strategy
- Ensure policies promote fairness, clarity, and a positive associate experience across all levels of the organization
- Partner with Legal and Corporate AE to ensure policies meet all compliance requirements and reflect best practices
- Develop and apply metrics to assess the effectiveness, clarity, and adoption of AE policies
- Analyze feedback from employees and AE teams to identify gaps or friction points in policy execution
- Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements that enhance policy relevance and associate satisfaction
- Report on policy performance to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
- Establish a structured cadence for policy reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Stay current on employment legislation, regulatory updates, and industry trends
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on legal and regulatory changes affecting AE policies
- Collaborate with the Law department to proactively update policies in response to evolving legal landscapes
- Embed associate-centric principles into policy design to foster trust, inclusion, and well-being
- Partner with AE teams to ensure policies are communicated clearly and consistently across the enterprise
- Support initiatives that promote well-being, flexibility, and work-life balance through thoughtful policy frameworks
- Lead the strategic oversight of the company's relocation program across all divisions, ensuring consistency, cost-effectiveness, and a positive associate experience
- Manage relationships with third-party relocation vendors, including contract negotiation, service delivery, and performance evaluation
- Partner with the Relocation Specialist to serve as the primary escalation point for complex or executive-level relocation requests, providing tailored support and coordination
- Collaborate with division AE teams to ensure relocation policies are applied consistently and meet the needs of diverse business units
- Monitor relocation trends and benchmark practices to continuously improve program design and associate satisfaction
- Ensure relocation policies are compliant with tax regulations, immigration laws, and internal governance standards
- Train and develop AE associates across corporate and division teams on policy interpretation and application
- Foster consistency and empathy in policy administration to ensure a positive associate experience at every touchpoint
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Travel independently <10%
- Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- 5+ years' experience Associate Experience/Human Resources Generalist or experience in an equivalent role
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to achieve results through collaboration
- Ability to interpret government policies and regulations
- Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
Desired
- Retail division or Supply Chain business unit AE/HR experience
- Division Labor Manager experience
- HR generalist, associate relations, labor relations experience
- Experience creating, implementing, administering, communicating policies
