JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for maintaining sanitary building, equipment and utensils used in producing high quality products. The Sanitation Supervisor schedules frequencies of cleaning, develops methods, and trains in procedures, maintaining the plant at the highest level of sanitation and economical minimum insuring all tasks performed by the department are performed safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of SQR. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and participate in the plant's safety process.
- Maintain clean and orderly plant; involves working in dairy manufacturing environment with high degree of noise and temperature extremes.
- Use knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure all products are free of contamination through elimination of all possible sources of infestation or unsanitary conditions.
- Responsible for training and developing sanitation crew; Requires use of hands and arms to manually operate sanitation equipment.
- Visually monitor all areas of plant operations, identify areas of concern and recommend necessary corrective action.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all government sanitation requirements.
- Order all necessary supplies and maintains internal control over same.
- Develop and/or maintain local plant master sanitation schedule.
- Plan and direct assigned activities and informs plant Production Manager, QA Manager, and Plant General Manager of such activities; involves use of written and verbal communication with Production Manager and Plant General Manager.
- Conduct and coordinate all plant sanitation inspections and participates in all corporate sanitation audits.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Perform other job functions as may be assigned.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
- Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Thorough knowledge of department operations and procedures.
- Ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable manner for internal/external relations.
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to write brief reports and log documentation.
- College degree and/or equivalent experience required.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
Desired
- Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant preferred.
- Previous manufacturing sanitation experience preferred.
