JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Manage warehouse inventories and operational expenses
  • Establish operational procedures for distribution activities
  • Inspect physical condition of facility and equipment
  • Confer with department heads to coordinate Distribution Center activities with sales, records control, and purchasing activities
  • Screen and hire Distribution Center management staff
  • Participate in planning associate safety and plant-protection activities and training
  • Establish and communicate annual goals to Distribution Center associates
  • Assist in planning operational and capital budgets
  • Communicate with labor unions as the management representative for the Company
  • Negotiate and approve vendor contracts for supplies
  • Coordinate applicable distribution activities with merchandising, operations and store associates
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or other related discipline, plus 3+ years of experience in retail management and distribution/warehouse operations; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis
  • Ability to travel independently on an occasional basis
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with retail distribution technical terms and processes
  • Ability to work within set time frames and fixed deadlines
  • Ability to continue education, as necessary
  • Valid driver's license

Desired
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure
  • Experience directing and participating on project teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Second language
