LOGISTICS/MAINTENANCE PARTS SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION
Oversee the full lifecycle of maintenance parts and equipment, including ordering, receiving, inventory management, and coordination of deliveries and pickups. Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of all maintenance-related purchases using shipping documents for verification. Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Engineering Department to facilitate smooth operations. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive all maintenance-related purchases, verifying items against shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Properly store received items in designated bins or storage areas.
- Complete routine paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Oversee all maintenance inventory functions, including equipment storage and auto-replenishment accuracy.
- Use inventory management systems (e.g., Empac) to track parts, tools, and equipment to support efficient maintenance operations.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory across all storage locations.
- Requisition parts and services; request vendor pricing as needed.
- Conduct and manage annual, semi-annual, weekly, and spot-check inventories, address discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor and adjust pickup/delivery schedules for parts and equipment.
- Stage and label materials for scheduled maintenance work.
- Utilize the maintenance system to manage daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities.
- Support technicians by fulfilling parts and information requests.
- Contribute suggestions to management for improving maintenance practices.
- Operate company equipment, vehicles, PITs, and aerial lifts in a safe and responsible manner.
- Clean and maintain assigned service vehicles.
- Follow all departmental and company policies and documentation procedures.
- Assist other skilled trade technicians with repairs as needed.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 to 5 years of experience in parts and inventory management
- Basic knowledge of parts, materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in maintenance operations
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills to support timely task completion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CMMS (e.g., Empac) or similar inventory software
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, sit for driving tasks, and lift/push/pull up to 70 pounds
- Physical activities also include climbing ladders, bending, squatting, kneeling, and working in varied indoor/outdoor environments
