GROCERY MDSG/DSD-ADULT BEVERAGE SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
Execute the base plan by bringing sales plan to life in stores. Work with DSD vendors to support event selling. Serve as subject matter expert for DSD, adult beverage categories. Assist merchandising team with strategic and tactical aspects of division grocery and corporate category management of local and seasonal adult beverage categories. Communicate with corporate teams to ensure implementation of strategic category plans, which take advantage of company size and, at the same time, are sensitive to individual markets. Identify incremental sales opportunities using the provided plan. Maintain product mix and plan-o-grams. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with and maintain positive trade relations and develop strategic alliances with DSD vendors to support event selling
- Review categories using corporate Reviewer, Market Reviewer, syndicated data and other data sources
- Provide necessary financial information to corporate and division merchandising teams to assist them in achieving sales
- Provide the corporate category manager with analyses needed for making strategic decisions
- Provide upward feedback to corporate, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to achieve purchasing efficiencies
- Guide stores on sales floor planning for promotional events
- Manage and communicate division-specific category and plan-o-gram updates to store teams
- Oversee monitoring of daily/weekly reports to identify any product cost or transportation charge corrections
- Ensure all store associates and field specialists have a complete understanding of all aspects and functions of the grocery department and its alignment with the company business strategy
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all state, county and city liquor laws
- Travel to division stores on a regular basis and work with store teams to promote sales with inspired selling, increase gross margin, improve market share and execute company-specific programs

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Any assistant store leader or adult beverage sales merchandising experience
- Any practical experience using computer assisted ordering (CAO)
- Proficient knowledge of Kroger systems and software
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work with diverse groups
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree
- Any division field specialist experience
