Job Description: Quality Manager
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the execution of quality related project requirements for Konecranes at manufacturing sites, remote sites, and vendor activities. Review business processes to verify for compliance and preventing nonconforming material from being introduced to the value stream.

Overview of Quality Manager Role and Responsibilities:
Departmental
- Supports KES project activities, imparting expertise and knowledge on technical resolutions.
- Assist in the surveillance of suppliers performing work on components and services as directed by quality management.
- Performs additional quality related tasks as may be assigned by the KES Global Director Nuclear Quality
Role Specific
- Work cohesively with Operations, Purchasing, and Project Management to ensure effective and timely implementation of requirements
- Manage and continually improve the KES site quality program for ISO 9001 and welding programs
- Maintain quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses with engineering; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures
- Responsible for the inspection of vendor and internal records for compliance to requirements
- Partner with departments in problem solving process, including leading Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Process
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including nonconformances, lessons learned, corrective actions
- Communicate discrepancies to the responsible internal or external parties
- Manage the NCR process for the KES facility
- Champion continuous improvement of business activities through internal stakeholders
- Ensure potential risks/hazards are identified and mitigated in a timely manner
- Monitor and control the methodology for analyzing COPQ and driving remedies to reduce
- Administer a program for vendor audits and surveys
- Function as a subject matter expert for how quality assurance functions are integrated with business processes
- Oversee and manage Quality Assurance and Control activities for the KES site
- Manage and grow a team of QA/QC professionals to support manufacturing activities
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company organizational policies/procedures and applicable laws/regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- Experience
- 5+ years quality assurance or control experience preferred
- 5+ years of welding/ weld control/ inspection experience
- Familiarity or strong understanding of NDT
- Proficiency using SAP is preferred
Traits / Skills
- Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components as well as common manufacturing processes
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter
- Proven record of consensus building and being able to effectively align other parties
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-directed and the ability to interact with supervisors, engineers, and customers effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Strong teamwork and networking skills
Preferred Candidate will have:
Previous quality experience with heavy structures or welding environment
Experience managing ISO programs and customer audits
