Opportunity
The production supervisor is responsible for achieving goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability for the Focused factory operation. Providing highly visible leadership to engage and inspire front line leaders and operators within the factory operation.
Establishes basic and consistent flow through the focused Factory efforts using KPI’s set for the department and through continuous improvement activities.
Drives continuous improvement in all areas from customer order to customer delivery. Leads cross functional collaboration with Product Engineering and Marketing groups to achieve this. Demonstrates a relentless commitment to elimination of all forms of waste. Monitors load and capacity of the focused factory to ensure customer expectations are always met. Work with engineering to ensure all capacity constraints are identified and plans in place to address the needed actions.
Specific Responsibilities
- Achieves required output levels both in terms of total throughput and the achievement of takt times.
- Works with the materials team to ensure execution of the schedule and ensures focused priorities are completed as needed and commits are communicated to the necessary departments and individuals.
- Understands the production schedule and work center production skus to ensure flexibility and focus while meeting the schedule and output needs.
- Establishes and maintains an effective 5S culture. Drive Actions to ensure continued path toward a true north approach and model cell focus.
- Identifies and drives improvements throughout the value stream, emphasizing focus on the end customer and achieving consistent and quick delivery to the end user.
- Develops and enforces standard work. Uses leaders standard work to ensure daily audits to existing standards.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully achieving goals and completing assignments.
- Conducts daily tier meetings in the work area to cover performance against goal in the areas of safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Delivers factory KPI updates and communicates escalations to Leadership during the daily production meeting.
- Identifies waste in all forms and leads projects to eliminate waste.
- Creates a culture of continuous improvement with high levels of associate engagement through the active collection and execution of improvement ideas, partners with upper management to foster active participation and engagement, works to achieve and sustain Tier 4 status in KSMS, KQMS, and celebrates success through individual and group recognition activities.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, preferably in a technical engineering field. Master's Business Administration, or related master’s degree, strongly preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be considered based on skillsets and demonstrated results.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with tools and methods in a quality, lean, continuous improvement, or other known improvement system, in discrete or continuous manufacturing environments.

- Ability to teach, mentor, and coach across multiple levels of the operation (shop floor to plant manager) so the customer can maintain and improve standards developed through kaizen events.
- Proven ability to use systematic problem solving to solve technical challenges.
- Proven ability to communicate across broad levels of business: from shop floor to executive leaders using effective methods.
- Excellent team facilitation skills. Build teams in a collaborative work style; previous successful experience in team building and motivating others.
- Strong leadership and change agent skills. Able to overcome obstacles using positive facilitation, teamwork, and influence through building and maintaining relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Viso (access preferred), SharePoint preferred.
