Sr Media Manager

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Kohler, WI - Onsite 4 days per week

Opportunity

The Sr Media Manager is responsible for driving best-in-class media strategy and activation across Kohler’s portfolio of brands, including Kohler Hospitality, Kohler Canada, Ann Sacks, Klafs, Kallista, Kohler Ventures, and Industrial Castings. 

This role ensures media serves as a growth driver by aligning business objectives to media strategy, guiding activation across all paid channels, and championing innovation to strengthen Kohler’s competitive position. The Sr. Media Manager will serve as a key liaison between Kohler’s marketing teams and the company’s media agency of record (AOR), fostering seamless communication, collaboration, and integration to deliver impactful, data-driven media campaigns.

 

Specific Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define the overarching paid media vision for Kohler Co. that aligns with corporate and brand objectives across all business units.
  • Partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into integrated media strategies spanning traditional, digital, and emerging platforms.
  • Serve as an advisor to brand and business leaders on media’s role in driving awareness, engagement, consideration and ROI.

Partnership & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact between Kohler and its AOR, ensuring seamless coordination across campaigns and lines of business.
  • Guide agency partners in developing and executing innovative, audience-first strategies rooted in data-driven insights.
  • Partner closely with creative, brand, digital, analytics, and performance marketing teams to ensure campaigns are fully integrated and business outcomes are prioritized.

Operational & Financial Oversight

  • Oversee investment strategy and budget stewardship across brands, ensuring efficiency, value-add, and accountability.
  • Establish clear KPIs and frameworks for measuring media effectiveness across awareness, consideration, and conversion.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to executive leadership, highlighting business impact, optimization opportunities, and forward-looking recommendations.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, AI applications, measurement evolution, and emerging platforms to guide Kohler’s paid media roadmap.
  • Champion testing and learning agendas that position Kohler as a leader in media innovation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and education within Kohler and with agency partners.    
  • Promote “out of the box” thinking, driving innovation that challenges category norms and elevates brand impact.

Team Management

  • Provide strategic direction, support, and guidance to the team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and highly productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement long-term plans for team growth and development, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, quality, and accountability.

Skills/Requirements

  • Four-year degree required.  Emphasis in New Media, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive media experience, primarily within media agencies and/or large corporate brands, with a focus on strategy, client leadership, and cross-business oversight.    
  • Proven expertise in media strategy, planning, buying, optimization, and stewardship, delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of both traditional and digital channels (TV, radio, print, out-of-home, display, video, social, programmatic, search, generative AI search, and emerging platforms).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior leadership on media strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and deliver efficiency and ROI.      
  • Experience collaborating with media AORs and cross-functional corporate teams.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Motivated by continuing education (seminars, classes, online learning, podcasts, etc.).
