The Project Leader – Mechanical Services is a hybrid leadership role responsible for supervising skilled trades associates while also managing maintenance projects and reactive work. This position ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective mechanical services while driving continuous improvement, project execution, and equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing team members.

Targets
- Lead and supervise a team of skilled trades associates, ensuring daily and weekly maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Assign and prioritize reactive and preventive maintenance work using SAP tools.
- Audit completed work orders for accuracy and data integrity.
- Foster a positive, high-performance team culture through recognition, coaching, and development.
- Enforce safety, environmental, and company policies, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Evaluate and plan incoming work requests, segregating tasks by priority and risk.
- Develop scopes of work, timelines, and budgets for projects, provide cost estimates to internal customers.
- Coordinate projects, preventive maintenance, and shutdowns.
- Create and communicate weekly schedules.
- Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings with stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, RCA, BPR, PM optimization).
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for welding and rigging programs, providing technical guidance, training, and oversight to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational safety protocols.
- Maintain and improve the lifting fixture programs.
- Mentor millwrights, welders and apprentices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including BOMs, equipment records, and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and internal standards.
- Hold daily shift meetings and provide regular updates to leadership.
Skills/Requirements
- Associate degree in Electro-mechanical, Supervisory Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in maintenance; 3+ years in a supervisory or planning role.
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Maintenance Management Certification preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and develop job plans and estimates.
