Kiln Spray Ware Handler 

Location: Onsite - Brownwood, Texas 

 

Competitive Compensation: Starting at $20.40 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for night shifts.  

Shift Needed: 11 pm - 7:30 am on a Sunday - Thursday schedule.

We are looking to fill our Kiln Spray Ware Handler position within our Vitreous division. This position will be based at our Brownwood, TX location, where we specialize in manufacturing high-quality bathroom products, including luxury bathtubs and toilets. 

 

Crafting Excellence: Your Responsibilities 

  • Survey the ware handling system constantly. 

  • Report any malfunction of the ware handling system to the kiln operator – or to supervision. · Assist in the repairs as required. 

  • Assist in the loading and pushing of kiln cars to maintain the kiln schedule. 

  • Operate forklift truck as required. 

  • Clean and maintain work areas, machines, etc. as required during and at the end of the shift. 

  • Complete required documentation necessary to maintain accurate inventory and payroll records.

  • Measure, understand, act on and report quality and operations information. 

  • Understand, act on and communicate internal and external customer requirements and organization goals. 

  • Assist co-workers as required. 

  • Perform minor maintenance and report abnormalities. 

  • Take initiative to address all process and equipment malfunctions and problems. 

  • Recommend and assist in process and equipment improvements. 

  • Participate and/or lead workshops using KOS tools and techniques.Maintain knowledge of and follow all safety regulations in effect. 

  • Engage in learning activity to upgrade skill sets, both interpersonal and technical. 

  • Understand, interpret and act on necessary forms of visual management systems, such as kanban, or direct pull to achieve production objectives. 

  •  Perform all duties as assigned by supervision

Key Qualifications 

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship. 

  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes. 

  • Must be at least 18 years old. 


Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience. 

  • Requires moderate physical demand.  

  • Requires ability to process a designated number of units.  

  • Must be able to work scheduled overtime.  

  • Possibility of reduced work hours. 

  • Must have the ability to follow general instructions. 

  • Must have a working knowledge of ware handling system and loading of kiln cars. 

  • Must be able to work in hot/dirty/dusty environments. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential duties of the position. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day. 

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety policies and procedures. 

  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and work performance. 

  • Screening: Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
