Global Process Owner, Record to Report

Location: Onsite: 4 days a week in Kohler, WI

Opportunity

The Global Process Owner (GPO) – Record to Report (R2R) is responsible for driving global process standardization, transactional efficiency, organizational capability, process performance, and a prioritized roadmap of all global Record to Report processes.  The position collaborates with key stakeholders and to deliver new services where appropriate.  The position provides stewardship to assure that quality, operating, financial, and customer satisfactions objectives are achieved.  The position designs process and key performance indicators for the global Record to Report processes.  The Global Process Owner has single-point accountability for process excellence and is expected to drive change across the global enterprise. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the global Record to Report process roadmap to deliver targeted business benefits and ease of process use for the end user.  Key sub-process components include General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, and Inter-company accounting.
  • Influence and align key stakeholders (both from Business and Corporate Functions) on potential global process changes.
  • Lead global governance of Record to Report.
  • Provide insights into shaping policies related to Record to Report process and institute process improvements to drive improved adherence to policies.
  • Define and implement KPIs and performance measures associated with the Record to Report process.  Lead benchmarking activities and continuous assessment of global process performance measures, driving measurable improvements in the process over time.
  • Collaborate with IT and Corporate Finance on system implementation / enhancement initiatives to the extent impacting Record to Report process and deployment of other enabling technologies such as metrics dashboard.
  • Identify, drive, and monitor continuous improvement related to the Record to Report process and create opportunities to bring service innovation to Kohler Co.
  • Ensure adequate and timely root cause analysis to understand problem drivers and implementation of necessary corrections and/or changes.
  • Identify and drive process automation including robotics and AI for the process area.
  • In consultation with business/functions and service delivery teams, support the identification, prioritization and implementation of process improvements, to drive better business outcomes.
  • Establish and sustain process change control for Record to Report processes.
  • Provide process expertise for shared service migrations, business integrations including M&A activities.
  • Identify and lead associated change management activities for service delivery teams, which is essential for ensuring execution of process as planned.
  • Must be viewed as the process leader within functions/businesses across the enterprise.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with process technology partners.

Skills/Requirements

  • BS degree in Management, Finance or Accounting.
  • MBA preferred, but not required.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Desired 10 years of progressive Finance experience in a complex, global organization.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience related to Record to Report processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed global environment.
  • Stakeholder management experience with ability to influence and persuade key stakeholder and to constructively deal with conflicts.
  • SAP R/3 experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of executing process transformation initiatives or delivering enterprise systems.
  • In-depth understanding of Record to Report leading practices.
  • Experience with implementation of RPA technologies, Artificial Intelligence or other technologies within Record to Report desirable.
  • Program and project management experience required.
  • Formal continuous improvement (e.g. Lean / Six Sigma) desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
