Electrical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, develop, optimize, and problem solve manufacturing and converting processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Projects team in Beech Island, SC. This team supports mid-term and long-term capital project initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Support mid-term and long-term projects at the mill level.
  • Help Staff teams plan and execute projects related to cost, delivery, safety, and product improvements.
  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of manufacturing equipment to meet unit objectives.
  • Lead single or multiple product or process improvement projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization.
  • Identify and problem solve complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause, including leading group Problem Solving sessions.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, problem solving, and project management.
  • Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise.

Influence:

This role will own and manage the electrical side of our projects team. They will support the design and execution of capital projects lead from the mill side or Kimberly-Clark staff teams. Project Engineers will support the projects through design, contractor management, on the floor execution, and carry the project through Kimberly-Clarks Capital process. They will also have the ability and expertise to support our operations and maintenance teams in upkeep and optimization of critical equipment. They will also be able to provide long term improvements to the asset from idea conception all the way through execution.

Qualifications:

  • Position requires a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of working experience
  • Incumbent should have a demonstrated history of proven performance in both objectives and Ways of Working. This position requires directing the maintenance and operations team through influence and problem solving.
  • Incumbent should have the ability and flexibility to work in a manufacturing environment with a 24/7 operation.
  • Incumbent should be flexible to travel up to 15% as dictated by business need for meetings, machine install or start-up support, benchmarking, or best practice sharing across KCNA

Preferred:

  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Software (Factory Talk, AssetCentre, drives, and components)
  • Operations Management - Data Collection, Analysis, Reporting, Problem Solving
  • Experience working with external technical service providers.
  • Evidence of continuing self-development.
  • Familiarity with machine installations and startups.
