As the KCNA Procurement Construction Services & Equipment Sr Specialist you will have overall responsibility to develop and execute the Capex Construction category sourcing strategy and manage construction spend in North America. The role serves as the strategic interface with construction expertise between our Plant, Engineering, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Procurement teams, and General Contractors. Kimberly-Clark is taking a long term, strategic approach to building and construction projects to support value engineered, sustainable, efficient manufacturing operations. You will manage contractors and supplier relationships consistent with Kimberly-Clark approach to long term strategic partnerships with its Construction contractors, material suppliers, and service providers. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively interface and influence a broad range of stakeholders both within Kimberly-Clark and our contractors, suppliers, and service provider network.

In this role you will:

  • Serve as a change agent for the Procurement organization, with a strong ownership mentality and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Assess KCNA supplier landscape and market dynamics (e.g., emerging suppliers & innovation, supply / market trends, etc.)
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders on Contractor construction needs and strategy (e.g., collect business requirements), with an ability to work effectively in a global matrix structure.
  • Develop KCNA Capex Construction category strategy.
  • Drive execution of construction sourcing events
  • Manage senior supplier relationships.
  • Manage, track, and report on KCNA construction equipment and service cost / sourcing initiatives & results.
  • Identify opportunities and drive initiatives to simplify / standardize ways of working.
  • Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and award contracts for construction and manufacturing asset installation purchases for North America sites.

The successful candidate will join the KCNA Procurement team and report to the NA In-directs Leader.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience in construction management, engineering, procurement, construction agent, owner's construction representative, Resident Engineer, or similar role (including plant and/or corporate experiences).
  • Intellectually curious, strong analytical skills
  • Previous project management experience at construction firm is required.
  • Deep industry knowledge of construction processes, trends and cost drivers is essential.
  • Experience managing general contractors and industrial or manufacturing construction projects is preferred.
  • Experience with Engineer Procurement Construction (EPC) and Design-Build contracts preferred.
  • Experience in leading by influence while balancing multiple ongoing projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a heavily matrixed organization.
  • Business acumen, excellent communication skills (both written and oral), ability to communicate up and across the organization, cross functional collaboration & influencing, functional and technical awareness.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time.
