POSITION PURPOSE

Lead and continuously improve Environmental programs and systems that ensure regulatory compliance for the Corinth, Mississippi, Kimberly Clark mill site.

SCOPE

This position will report to the Kimberly Clark Professional Mill Manager and will be expected to fully support environmental compliance and continuous improvement across both Operating areas, Kimberly Clark Professional Mill as well as the Kimberly Clark Global Non-Wovens Mill.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations
  • Facilitate environmental incident investigations
  • Facilitate EHS Maturity Model Gap Closure efforts for environmental standards
  • Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs
  • Assess the existing or potential environmental impact of land use projects on air, water and land
  • Identify environmental, energy saving, and renewable energy projects
  • Develop, implement, and manage plans/programs related to landfill-free efforts
  • Support key safety programs applicable to the site
  • Coach operational teams on improving environmental performance
  • Lead active environmental related teams and engagement activities
  • Provide training and education to Operations teams, Engineering, and Maintenance technicians

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related technical degree
  • 3 plus years of work experience in an environmental field in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with implementing water and energy reduction and waste/recycling programs
  • Advanced familiarity with federal and state environmental rules and regulations
  • Ability to lead volunteer and mandated team efforts
  • Proficient in the use of incident investigation and problem-solving methodologies
  • Ability to analyze data, recognize business impact and communicate trends

DIMENSIONS

Vary widely with assignment and typically include:

  • Project responsibility of $.5 MM to $5 MM
  • Project team of 0-5 people

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design and Development: Provide guidance in the initiation, design and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives.
  • Technical Knowledge: Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and guidance in application of engineering principles.
  • Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS): Provide EHS technical and regulatory advice to mill leadership, the EHS Steering Committee, Project Engineers, and others. Analyze EHS data and provide insights regarding results and trends to establish improvement recommendations. Audit facility EHS performance and assist with EHS Management System operation, maintenance, and administration. Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel. Support continuous improvement of the mill EHS Policy Statement and practices.
  • Security and Documentation: Provide guidance in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.
  • Problem Solving: Seek, recognize, define and solve problems/opportunities to achieve unit objectives.
  • Internal Control: Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.
  • Communications: Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive.
  • Human Resources Development: Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.
  • QMP: Provide direction and participative leadership in the practical application of the Quality Management Process in all assignments and responsibilities.
  • Ensure continued safe work practices of self and others by complying with company and governmental regulations. Maintain good housekeeping standards while eliminating and preventing losses of all types (injuries, illnesses, process loss, property damage).
