About You

As the Category Manager for Belgium, you will be part of the Benelux Consumer Business and will be based in Diegem (Belgium). You will be responsible for translating insights out of analysis into category management strategies which deliver growth to the KC sales results and customer category objectives.

You will report directly to the Go To Market Leader and you will be an individual contributor (no direct reports).

Location: we can offer a hybrid model (on remote / Diegem Office) for candidates already based in Belgium.

YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyzing the performances of the categories and of the brands, and pro-actively providing recommendations to improve results
  • Determining and implementing Trade strategies in agreement with the Key Account Manager and the Marketing team by working on the different category levers (assortment, promotion, merchandising, ...)
  • Defining clear and actionable Category Strategies to be presented internally and to the Retail - in line with our Brand strategies
  • Co-piloting Customers Plans together with the Key Account Manager (and recommending corrective actions)
  • Developing and maintaining sustainable relationships with customers through the presentation of inspirational objective insights, which deliver customer category growth.
  • Becoming the Category expert and building persuasive and insightful presentations to be shared internally and to our retail partners - communicating and activating the category vision and its growth drivers
  • Working together in multi-functional teams on category & brand strategies.
  • Presenting internally the latest category developments in commercial meetings and business reviews.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Previous experience in a FMCG environment, preferably in the Category Management department
  • Strong analytical skills, with a strong sense for synthesis and ability to derive actionable insights out of information & analysis
  • Perfect knowledge of the MS office package - knowledge of multiple source data (Nielsen, GFK, qual/quant research) and space planning software is a strong asset
  • Very well organized and able to set the right priorities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to build working relationships across functional areas
  • Commercial drive and a proactive nature
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French with an excellent level of English.
