Kforce has a client that is seeking a Broadcast Engineer in Washington, DC.Responsibilities:

  • Broadcast Engineer will perform preventive and routine maintenance on all systems
  • Serve as acting Project Manager for Engineering projects
  • Plan and execute software updates on equipment
  • Design, test, and integrate new equipment
  • Maintain documentation
  • Assist Operations and Production in assessing improvements and creating projects
  • As a Broadcast Engineer, you will coordinate with Networking and IT on service requests as requested
  • Monitor HVAC and Power, and alert vendors of critical issues
  • Perform configuration changes and test in preparation for Special Events
  • Work with Technical Managers on troubleshooting Studio and Control Room issues
  • Maintain facility compliance with standard Broadcasting Practices and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • 5+ years of Broadcasting experience in a Live news operation or equivalent -event- driven environment
  • Experience with Dante, SDI, NDI, Networking, ENPS and OnCue Prompters
  • Experience and knowledge of Multimedia file formats and CODEC's
  • Proven knowledge of Broadcasting Audio and Video standards
  • Proven knowledge of A/V and networking signal flow
  • Expert level knowledge in Networking and IT skills as it pertains to Broadcasting
  • Expert level knowledge in streaming content and related protocols and formats, such as: TCP, UDP, MPEG-TS, SRT, Zixi, IGMP/PIM, Layer 2/3, Subnetting, VLANs, OTT, cloud-based Master Control
  • Ability to maintain composure during high stress situations, required
  • Flexibility in scheduling; Occasional evenings and weekends will be required
  • Availability to work holidays as a team member on a rotating basis
  • Experience in managing NAS/SAN a plus
  • Experience in troubleshooting Newtek TriCaster, Berringer Wing, conventional Analog Audio Gear a plus
  • Experience with RTS ODIN/Omneo/RVON a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
