Overview
The Accounting Manager, under the direction of the VP, Property Accounting works collaboratively to manage financial aspects of KETTLER Managements apartment communities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-service focused individual. This individual will be responsible to manage a team of Accountants with a portfolio of properties (approximately 30-35 properties). This individual will work with auditors on the annual audit and other analyses related to the month-end and year-end close and have the ability to consistently meet reporting deadlines.
This position is contingent upon a new business award.

Responsibilities
- Manages day to day accounting functions of Property Accountants to include review/approval of the monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, wires, etc., while meeting the internal/external deadlines.
- Effectively communicate with all 3rd party clients on financial statement questions, distributions, business license filings, personal property tax filings and other Tax related questions.
- Oversee and manage transitions of new properties as well as dispositions (sale or management transition) to include preparation of sale pro-rations.
- Work in partnership with the operations team on the annual budgets, reforecasts, Cash funding draws, and financial statement preparation.
- Provide training, discipline, goal planning, and performance management for a team of Property Accountants.
- Work with VP, Property Accounting in meeting monthly, end of year, and audit requirements.
- Ability to successfully multi-task and manage multiple deadlines within multiple property management softwares.
- Has sufficient knowledge of GAAP and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 (seven) years of experience in an Real Estate Accounting department and at least 5 (five) years as a Manager or related people leadership role
- Property Management/Real Estate background highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sumifts, etc...)
- Great communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- BA or BS Degree in Accounting/Finance required with knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with Yardi is preferred
