Role Overview:

We're seeking a talented Senior UI/UX Designer to drive the visual and interactive aspects of our platform. This role focuses on creating cohesive user experiences through design systems, prototypes, and production-ready designs that our full-stack engineers bring to life. You'll collaborate closely with product managers and engineering teams, translating user needs into elegant, well-specified designs while ensuring design fidelity from concept to production.

  • Design and maintain our design system in Figma, creating components that map to our engineering component library.
  • Create production-ready designs, wireframes, and interactive prototypes in Figma.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand user needs and translate them into design solutions.
  • Partner with full-stack engineers to ensure design fidelity in production implementations.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, visual patterns, and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed design handoffs with clear specifications, redlines, and interaction documentation.
  • Lead user research initiatives and usability testing to validate design decisions.
  • Review production implementations against designs to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Stay current with UX trends and design tools to continuously improve our design practice.
  • Document design patterns, component usage, and guidelines for the product team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, variants, and prototyping.
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems that translate to code.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design skills across web applications.
  • Understanding of component-based design principles and how designs map to frontend architecture.
  • Knowledge of responsive design principles and breakpoint strategies.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies and usability testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for effective collaboration, documentation, and articulating design concepts.
  • Ability to create detailed design specifications and handoff documentation for engineering teams.
  • Ability to collaborate synchronously with team members during core hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM US Eastern Time) while respecting work-life balance.

Portfolio Requirements: 

  • Must submit portfolio in clickable form - something more dynamic than a powerpont-style presentation or a series of jpeg images.
  • Must follow design best practices - clear resolution, designed with accessibility & mobile in mind, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in advertising technology, marketing analytics, or financial interfaces.
  • Knowledge of data visualization design principles and techniques.
  • Experience designing complex form interfaces and validation patterns.
  • Understanding of design systems at scale across multiple applications.
  • Experience with motion design and micro-interaction specifications.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for design ideation, prototyping, or asset generation.
  • Background in user psychology or human-computer interaction.
  • Knowledge of first principles (e.g. basics of tools, internals of the computer, low level concepts and how work actually gets done, etc).
  • Strategic thinking skills (e.g. high level concepts, fundamental logic/reasoning).
  • Contributions to open-source design systems or design community resources.
