Control Management (CM)
CM maintains a strong and consistent control environment through a joint accountability model that aligns managers with each line of business, function and region to mitigate operational risk. The team focuses on four areas: Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design, Issue Management, and Control Governance & Reporting.
Role Responsibilities:
The global Risk Identification & Assessment Team is part of Markets Business Controls Management (BCM) and works with business-aligned BCMs as well as with senior Business and Functional Managers to help the Business understand and manage operational risk. The team are the Markets leads for CORE (Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation), the firm's strategic operational risk and control assessment framework. - Lead the Risk Identification & Assessment team in Buenos Aires, driving the identification and accurate representation of risks and controls in CORE, and risk and control reporting.
- Partner with Markets BCM and central CORE teams to continue to ensure the representation of Markets' risks and controls in CORE is complete and accurate, for example through the Process Annual Review (PAR). Review and validate aspects of CORE not addressed by the Process Annual Review, such as Control Function Triggers , and review consistency across businesses of Markets' risks and processes in CORE, to identify opportunities for standardization or simplification.
- Drive effective and efficient use of the CORE platform in Markets. Provide expertise in CORE to support the Markets business, manage CORE exception processes, and represent Markets in CIB-wide and Firm-wide working groups to further develop the CORE platform.
- Complete required risk and control reporting and reviews in a high quality and efficient way, including the quarterly CIB Market Practices CORS, quarterly Firmwide Market Practices QORA.
- Continue to enhance our risk reviews, for example through developing our analysis of external events. Deliver insightful risk reporting on how the risk and control environment is evolving and why. Ensure that risk reporting includes meaningful commentary and appropriate metrics to explain risk trends and issues.
- Drive continuous improvements in the efficiency of these processes, to create capacity, and take on new risk reviews as required. Leverage technology to improve the team's workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred
- Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate the operational risk and control environment in conjunction with business partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
