Technology Support Associate - Linux/SQL

As a Technology Support II team member in Post Trade Technology Production Management, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production application flows. Your efforts in troubleshooting, maintaining, identifying, escalating, and resolving production service interruptions for all internally and externally developed systems support a seamless user experience and a culture of continuous improvement. This position requires a blend of creative and critical thinking skills to ensure the stability and efficiency of our applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Monitoring: Oversee production application monitoring and implement automation tools, platforms, and processes.
Incident Management: Lead and manage priority incidents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize impact and restore services promptly.
Problem and Change Management: Work closely with Application Development, Product, and Production Management teams to support Problem and Change Management processes.
Service Level Objectives (SLO): Collaborate to establish and maintain SLOs, implementing telemetry and observability to monitor service quality in real-time.
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve key technical issues, escalating to appropriate technology teams when necessary.
Disaster Recovery: Plan, execute, and document Disaster Recovery tests to ensure system resilience.
Monitoring and Automation: Design, implement, and improve monitoring tools and automation components to enhance application stability and meet SLAs.
Software Lifecycle Collaboration: Partner with development teams throughout the software lifecycle to ensure sustainable software releases.
Qualifications:
Education: BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
Leadership: Lead by example, especially during complex or high-impact incidents, and support team members in achieving their objectives and career growth.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in service-level changes and troubleshooting components.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and time management.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, ThousandEyes, Splunk, Geneos, etc.
Demonstrated experience with cloud-based infrastructure platforms such as AWS, GCP.
Knowledge of batch scripting, Python, or Shell Scripting.
Ability to produce SQL queries in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
Unix administration skills.
Exposure to general-purpose programming languages and a willingness to learn new coding languages and skills.
Familiarity with Application Health Dashboards or Machine Learning Projects is a plus.
Strong focus on automation and process improvement.
Understanding of the application development lifecycle.
Understanding of ITIL processes is a plus.
