As a Technical Program Manager in the central AWS Public Cloud Site Reliability team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our programs by combining strategic oversight with technical acumen. Your responsibilities will include optimising operational processes, enabling the identification and impact assessment of customer challenges and technical toil, and the ability to derive and prioritise actionable outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Process Improvement and Change Management: Drive change and implement process improvements, focusing on strategic oversight and continuous improvement.
  • Analytics: Ongoing analysis of work items across the team, identifying operational gaps and automation opportunities.
  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, define project scope, and manage timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Execution and Monitoring: Oversee all phases of project execution, track progress, and proactively identify and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, progress, and any potential issues.
  • Technical Acumen: Possess the ability to understand and translate complex technical requirements into actionable outcomes, with a focus on AWS public cloud solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure projects meet quality standards and user expectations through rigorous testing and validation processes.
  • Strategic Focus: Assess all solutions to expedite the reduction of customer challenges and technical toil, while balancing long-term strategy and maintainability.
  • Cross-functional Influence: Build relationships and influence teams outside the immediate reporting structure, coordinating across multiple projects and teams to drive program success.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project success and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project objectives are met.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain cross - functional relationships.
  • Proven ability to optimise operational processes and drive process improvements.
  • Excellent logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning, independent thinking, and a passion to drive change in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with AWS public cloud.
