As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments, Proprietary Wallets and Lending Innovation organization, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on developing and improving cutting-edge technology products that emphasize security, stability, and scalability. Your role will involve leveraging your extensive technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to tackle diverse challenges across various technologies and applications, playing a vital role in promoting the business's success.
Job responsibilities
- Creates engineering standards and best practices for a broad range applications to be applied across the organization
- Collaborates with architects, engineering directors, and senior application engineers to identify and incorporate business and technology requirements into standard approaches
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Drives adoption of best practices, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and efficiency are maintained across all projects
- Develops tools and practices for ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural approaches, utilizing industry-standard and the latest AI/ML approaches
- Creates and manages POCs to evaluate the feasibility and impact of new technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
- Leads AI innovation initiatives by identifying opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence into existing and new products, enhancing the firm's technological capabilities.
- Explores and develop strategies for the implementation of cutting-edge technologies across the organization, ensuring they align with the firm's long-term objectives.
- Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within domain of expertise. Create durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions.
- Influence leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams. Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Expert in Java programming language.
- Strong skillset in AI.
- Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in multiple technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, Web UI, etc.).
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines.
- Experience with cloud technologies.
- Ability to present and effectively communicate with Senior Leaders and Executives.
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Architecture experience
- Full stack experience including Web/mobile UI applications
- AWS experience
- Testing, deployment, and production monitoring
