As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Identity and Access Management team, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your contributions and capabilities will promote significant business impact as you apply your deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications. You will utilize your technical knowledge to solve complex issues, influence product direction, and create meaningful business impact, all while promoting a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and respect.

  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Advocate for best practices, tools, and frameworks across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, REACT, and RESTful API development for scalable, cloud-native distributed systems
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery.
  • Full proficiency in SDLC and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, including authentication, authorization, and credential lifecycle management.
  • Experience with secure credential vaults, secrets management, and federated identity solutions.
  • Familiarity with standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation.
