As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments, Proprietary Wallets, and Lending Innovation organization, you will play a crucial role in enhancing, building, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products with a focus on ensuring application quality through automation tools and frameworks. Your contributions will drive significant business impact as you apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle diverse challenges across multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Develops and implements automated testing standards and best practices across a broad range of applications within the organization.
  • Collaborates with central testing frameworks teams, architects, engineering directors, and senior application engineers to integrate business and technology requirements into automated testing approaches.
  • Provides regular technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Drives the adoption of best practices, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and efficiency are maintained across all projects.
  • Develops tools and practices for ensuring adherence to testing standards
  • Creates and manages POCs to evaluate the feasibility and impact of new test automation technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Leads AI innovation initiatives by identifying opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence into processes to ensure the quality of application code and implementations, enhancing the firm's technological capabilities.
  • Explores and develops strategies for implementing cutting-edge test automation technologies across the organization, ensuring alignment with the firm's long-term objectives.
  • Advises cross-functional teams on matters within the domain of expertise.
  • Creates durable, reusable tools that are leveraged across teams and functions.
  • Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams
  • Contributes to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 10+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expertise in Java programming language and test automation frameworks.
  • Strong skillset in AI, particularly in automating testing processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in multiple technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, Web UI, etc.).
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines
  • Experience with cloud technologies and their integration into testing tools and processes.
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate test automation strategies with Senior Leaders and Executives.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
