Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Perform all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: developing applications using J2EE, Spring, and Spring boot framework; developing frontend UI components with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: developing scalable and robust software based on microservice architecture patterns that deploy as REST APIs; developing software with Maven to resolve application dependencies; CI and CD tools including Jenkins and Sonar; writing automation scripts using Selenium; performing regression testing, performance testing, and load testing, including analyzing results, conducting root cause analysis, and designing and implementing solutions to resolve identified issues; production support activities including production issue analysis and resolving production tickets with closure comments; building applications that utilize JSON- and XML-formatted data files and service payloads for data transfers; performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flows, and query optimization using SQL; executing projects through the full SDLC using Agile methodologies; Agile ceremonies including PBR, Planning, and Retro; working with applications that have Apache Kafka integrations including publishing and consuming messages via Kafka; Hibernate for database connections with SQL and Oracle databases; log analysis tools including Splunk for troubleshooting issues; using Git for code base management. Experience and skills may be gained through graduate-level internships.

Full-Time. Salary: $128,600 - $155,000 per year.
