As a Software Engineer III-ServiceNow at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector-Infrastructure Platforms - Specialty Platforms & Services team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way on the ServiceNow platform. You are responsible for implementing technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives leveraging ServiceNow. The ServiceNow Software Engineer must align with the enterprise architects, product owners, and business partners for technical designs and technical implementation to ensure use cases are met in the most effective manner for the underlying ServiceNow platform. We are looking for creative problem solvers that can analyze business challenges, solution, and pro-actively make recommendations that favor leveraging out of box functionality over customization.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in ServiceNow configuration & administration with strong understanding of ServiceNow platform and SaaS model with relevance to ServiceNow integration solutions.
  • Experience leveraging ServiceNow codeless technologies - Flow Designer and Integration Hub
  • Experience with CMDB, and integration with other external tools
  • Experience with Service Portal, Request Catalog and Automations across the ServiceNow platform
  • Understanding of working with Web technologies such as SOAP, JSON, XML and Web Services
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer, or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of joining team
  • Integration solutions experience using SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, SFTP, and MID servers
  • Experience with Common Service Data Model (CSDM) frameworks
  • Experience with service portal development
  • Knowledge of AI and ML Capabilities
