Software Engineer III - DevOps

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Reconciliations Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes
• Manage deployment of code to PROD environment.
• Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
• Demonstrate site reliability principles and practices every day and champions the adoption of site reliability throughout the team
• Collaborate with others to create and implement observability and reliability designs for complex systems that are robust, stable, and do not incur additional toil or technical debt
• Work toward becoming an expert on the applications and platforms in your remit while understanding their interdependencies and limitations
• Evolve and debug critical components of applications and platforms
• Provide comprehensive and ongoing guidance, tools, and solutions to support the firms' growth
• Define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS and implement/Enhance infrastructure automation via IaaC using Terraform

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Proficient with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Practical cloud native experience

• Experience in automating deployment using Jenkins or any build server
