As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Executes standard software solution, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Coordinate multiple microservice release (Hotfix/weekly releases) to higher environments (Multiple Test environments, Performance, Hotfix, and Production)
  • Applies Scripting knowledge to automate the release process to improve efficiency
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
  • Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
  • Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development in Python
  • Proficient in one of the scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Shell) with Automation first mindset
  • Experience with build tools and package managers (e.g., Docker, Maven, Poetry)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and database technologies, such as SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD tools, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience with Jenkins and/or Spinnaker is a plus
  • High level understanding of container orchestration tools (like Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Cloud (AWS Preferred)
  • Excellent team, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
