Software Engineer II - Java, Latam Payments Technology

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Latam Payments Technology team, you will be part of the Regional Applications Technology group based in São Paulo. You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain regional applications for the Payments line of business, contributing to innovative technological solutions in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop new features and maintain existing ones for regional and global applications.
  • Participate in projects and provide production support.
  • Solve technical problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Write secure, high-quality code; review and debug code written by others.
  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions using AWS and Terraform, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, opportunity, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineer concepts and expanding applied experience
  • Proficiency in programming languages, at least two of Kotlin, Java and Go Lang, also including frameworks, paradigms, like Imperative (Object Oriented and Procedural) and Declarative (Functional and Reactive), applied using modern practices and using modern tools.
  • Experience creating and maintaining global financial systems with low tolerance for failures, high performance, resilience, and security.
  • Cloud experience on AWS (including serverless components) and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
  • Knowledge of how Virtual Machines, Operating Systems, Network, RDBMS, NoSQL DB, Message Systems, Containers, and Asynchronous Processing work (not an exhaustive list)
  • Experience working in development teams using agile methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, and proactiveness.
  • Fluent in English.
