DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: proficiency in Java for developing backend components of web applications; utilizing object-oriented programming principles for writing reusable and well-maintained code; developing Spring Boot applications for building scalable microservices that are resilient, efficient, and maintainable; designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs using the Spring Boot for efficient communication between front-end and back-end systems; developing applications using the Spring JPA framework object-relational mapping (ORM) to interact with relational databases; creating dynamic and interactive web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; working with Oracle Database, including designing efficient database schemas and database optimization techniques, such as indexing and query tuning; writing complex queries in SQL for data calculation, analysis, and reporting; utilizing XML for data exchange in SOA-based applications and configuring systems, as well as XML parsers and JAXB for transforming and processing XML data; developing SOAP web services for legacy integrations, ensuring compatibility with external systems; using SOAP UI tool for testing the web services; automating the application build process using Maven, managing project dependencies, and creating repeatable, reproducible builds; utilizing Jenkins for automating the build and deployment process in a CI/CD pipeline; writing unit tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability; incorporating JUnit tests into the CI/CD pipeline to automate testing and deliver higher-quality code; utilizing AWS Cloud Services for developing, deploying, and managing applications at scale; managing and optimizing AWS EC2 instances for computing; utilizing AWS S3 for storing and retrieving large volumes of data in cloud-based applications, implementing features such as file uploading and downloading and integration with other AWS services; and Linux shell script to automate EC2 instance configuration.
