As a Senior Principal Architect at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you provide specialized expertise to influence the target state architecture and strategy. You will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of innovative, scalable, and secure technology solutions that support the firm's strategic objectives. You will provide architectural leadership across multiple domains, ensuring solutions are aligned with enterprise standards and adaptable to evolving business needs.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads the design and implementation of end-to-end technology solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
  • Develops and maintain target business object models and assess impacts of future business architecture on application architectures
  • Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm's innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about target state architecture.
  • Defines system and operational requirements for computing infrastructure, addressing inter-application dependencies and interfaces.
  • Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
  • Establishes and lead an architecture governance body to ensure best practices, standards, and guidelines are followed.
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improve velocity and quality of output across teams and functions.
  • Mentors and develop junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Presents complex technical concepts and architectural strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
  • Advises and leads strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems.
  • Deep expertise in cloud architectures and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and data management.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with technical governance and establishing best practices.
  • Ability to identify and manage architectural risks.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in credit card processing or consumer finance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk management in financial services.
  • Advanced knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Experience driving organizational change and technology adoption.
  • Strong negotiation and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience mentoring and developing technical talent.
