As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Financial Management team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. We are building innovative, best-in-class cloud-native FinOps solutions that are already in use by thousands of technologists at the Firm. This position will provide oversight and guidance to several engineering squads creating innovative solutions to drive cloud cost management and cloud operational efficiency for JPMorgan Chase.

Job responsibilities
• Driven to build innovative, best-in-class cloud-native FinOps solutions used by thousands of technologists.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and improves code written by others.
• Partners with our Product and Architecture team to influence product strategy and identify innovative solutions.
• Promotes a culture of quality and continious improvement through coaching and code reviews.
• Leads new initiatives and contributes code as needed to help accelerate early product development.
• Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
• Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
• Primarily an individual contributor role during ramp up phase with opportunities for squad leadership as domain knowledge is gained.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Over 5+ years managing one or more software engineering teams and 10+ years of general technology experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience building and operating complex ETL pipelines with large datasets, ideally using Python and native AWS products.
• Experience designing and coding Java APIs to support web-based UIs and direct data consumers.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools.
• Experience with cloud deployments using IaC, ideally Terraform.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
• Experience with recognizing, hiring, and developing talent.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification.
• Proficiency with at least 3 of the following: AWS Redshift, Glue/Spark, Lake Formation, Apache Iceberg, ReactJS.
• Experience with cloud billing and internal cost attribution.
• Experience with cloud FinOps and driving cloud cost efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
