As a Security Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls team, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives

Job responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy Core Java web applications across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with product owners to gather requirements and architect secure, scalable solutions; deliver new features in agile, two-week sprint cycles.
  • Conduct security validation, optimize performance, and apply software engineering best practices; provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed applications (DevOps).
  • Create enterprise-level applications, including RESTful microservices, using Java Spring, Spring Boot, ORM frameworks, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
  • Automate deployment and infrastructure pipelines for both on-premises and public cloud platforms.
  • Develop unit and integration tests with JUnit, Cucumber, and Mockito; produce software documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Implement platform observability and reporting, and manage production support activities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience working in Java, Spring and Spring boot frameworks
  • Hands on experience working on relational/NoSql databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA, hibernate etc.,)
  • Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented concepts, analysis and design using common design patterns
  • Experience developing security engineering solutions
  • Proficient in coding in one of more languages

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
