As a Quality Specialist II in the Originations Quality Assurance (OQA) team within Home Lending Risk, you will ensure newly originated mortgage loans comply with internal and investor guidelines. You will verify the accuracy of loan documentation provided by borrowers at closing, supporting our seasoned credit underwriters. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in detailed work that supports our business partners. Job Responsibilities

  • Review newly originated mortgage loans for compliance with guidelines.
  • Verify the accuracy of borrower-provided loan documentation.
  • Secure essential tax, credit, income, employment, and asset documentation.
  • Collaborate with credit underwriters to support loan origination processes.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in loan documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal and investor guidelines.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of quality assurance reviews.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and business partners.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Support the firm's risk management and compliance objectives.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Ability to balance work product quality and productivity to meet rigorous standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change and shift focus as responsibilities evolve.
  • Self-starter who actively seeks additional responsibilities to support business requirements.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in generating and utilizing system reporting.
  • Ability to promote constructive dialogue and foster effective relationships with teammates and business partners.
  • Ability to create and maintain departmental job aids and conduct peer training.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of first mortgage full file loan processing experience; government loan exposure a plus.
  • Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office suite; experience with quality assurance testing software helpful.
  • Experience interacting with offshore associates beneficial.
  • Knowledge of investor guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience in a similar role within a large financial institution.
