Join our dynamic team as a Project Manager in Equities Operations Transformation team in Hong Kong to lead transformative projects that shape the future of our industry!

As a Project Manager within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) Equities Operations Transformation team, you will be a key driver in delivering the strategic change agenda for the APAC CIB Equities business covering a wide range of initiatives from strategic system implementation / re-engineering, new products and markets, efficiencies and control, business process improvements across Operations & Post Trade Technology, client offerings & strategies to regulatory change. You will leverage your deep knowledge and expertise in project management to navigate complex issues, make informed decisions, and ensure the successful execution of programs. Your role will involve significant cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and conflict management to align operations initiatives with business strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of strategic plans into high-impact programs and projects, utilizing your expertise in project management and strategic thinking to deliver results across various business units.
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor program progress, make informed decisions, and direct necessary adjustments to ensure the successful delivery of program commitments.
  • Engage with senior management and stakeholders, providing regular updates on program progress, and collaborating to resolve any arising issues.
  • Work closely with Business Managers, Middle Office Leads and Technology teams to understand their needs and priorities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate across business and technology functions to ensure comprehensive solutions are delivered.
  • Define and manage the scope of projects, anticipating issues and proactively recommending solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis to distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Scope, elicit, analyze and document business requirements using a variety of techniques and tools.
  • Keep stakeholders and project teams engaged & motivated.
  • Own and deliver portfolio of initiatives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the financial industry, with understanding of Cash Agency workflows and detailed-oriented BA/PM skills
  • Ability to analyze and document complex current state and future state processes using Business Process Management (BPM) tools.
  • Excellent business analysis skills & a track record in delivering complex projects on behalf of Front Office / Operations / Technology.
  • Experience with data analytics; using analytics tools to understand large volumes of data and use it to make decisions.
  • Experience in preparing for and running UAT.
  • Good understanding of trade processes and flows.
  • Excellent problem solving skills to identify, understand and address operational and technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including senior executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Self motivation, and the ability to deliver with minimal supervision, whilst working effectively in a team.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of Trade Management, Settlement, Prime/EDG as a big plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certification
  • Experience in Technology change management
  • Ability to integrate artificial intelligence solutions to enhance project outcomes and drive data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to implement automation to streamline project workflows and increase operational efficiency
  • Ability to foster a culture of innovation by encouraging creative problem-solving and the adoption of new technologies
