We are currently seeking a Vice President (VP) that will bring a high level of intellectual excellence, vision, and fact-based analysis to creating compelling mortgage products and innovative programs.

As a Product Manager, VP in Home Lending, you will provide functional expertise and knowledge to the team while playing a significant role in producing extraordinary and measurable results for our Home Lending line of business. Whether through product and policy enhancements, new product design, technology, partnerships, or process improvements, they will work collaboratively with partners across the business and support functions to produce offerings that improve the customer experience and grow the business.

The Chase Home Lending Product, Innovation, and Insights team provides strategic vision, product development, and process innovation enhancements with the goal of building a transformational experience for Chase Home Lending customers. This team spearheads efforts to create compelling mortgage products and programs that appeal to both customers seeking a home loan and investors buying mortgage-backed securities.

Job responsibilities

  • Combines strategic vision and tactical expertise coupled with analytical problem solving skills to identify product and policy opportunities, streamline process and systems, and design innovative programs, all which translate into practical solutions for the business, strengthen competitiveness and profitability, and meet evolving customer needs.
  • Leads projects from strategy development though execution, including understanding interdependencies between multiple variables and considering tradeoffs and impact of decisions, developing proposals and fully vetting them with partners to gain buy in, identify risks and complexities, and ensure solutions are acceptable prior to presenting at senior level meetings to gain approval
  • Coordinates implementation of Consumer and/or Correspondent product and guideline changes including the following activities: working with functional partners to determine impacts of a change across all functional areas, controls, legal, compliance, and technology systems; creating project plan to address all implementation tasks from inception through final delivery; conducting project meetings to ensure successful completion of project; opening and managing change requests in Controls Change Manager (CCM) as necessary to support change management process and update Product Guides to support new changes; Participating in Correspondent channel point-of-sale testing as needed
  • Anticipates and identifies issues that will inhibit attainment of goals and proactively solving those problems; Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand and address challenges promptly and with precision while ensuring that teams are empowered to execute and deliver to established expectations
  • Leverages business intelligence, internal consultation, customer feedback, and market analytics to develop innovative, even disruptive, new products and services that place Chase at the forefront of the mortgage banking industry
  • Conducts or commissioning economic and financial analysis to develop strategic frameworks and plans to achieve the goals of home lending leadership
  • Works collaboratively with the team as needed for assistance on various projects

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent end-to-end problem solving skills and ability to prioritize issues and analysis
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and listening skills - ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams and confidently present to senior leadership
  • Awareness of industry and competitors and impact of both on business as well as ability to work with external stakeholders to find solutions to industry challenges.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 6+ years experience in mortgage banking industry with home lending products knowledge required; consulting or strategy experience preferred
  • Ability to structure and scope complex problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
  • Track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Openness to an environment of active developmental feedback from peers and managers
  • Conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills
