Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm, with comprehensive coverage and joint accountability for early operational risk identification, effective control design, and sustainable risk mitigation.
The New Product Assessment (NPA) Associate supports the execution and day‑to‑day management of the NPA framework within the Commercial & Investment Bank. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, Control Managers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure new and existing products are assessed, documented, and governed in a manner that is compliant, ethical, and aligned with firmwide standards.
The Associate acts as a key operational and analytical contributor to the NPA platform, providing oversight, coordination, and quality assurance across initiatives, while also driving continuous improvement of controls, reporting, and processes.
Key Responsibilities
NPA Framework Execution & Governance
- Support the ongoing execution and maintenance of the CIB NPA framework, including intake, assessment, approvals, and ongoing product governance activities.
- Coordinate and track NPA initiatives, ensuring required documentation, approvals, and control evidence are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Assist in maintaining alignment between the NPA framework and firmwide and Cross‑LOB governance standards.
Quality Control, Risk & Compliance Support
- Perform quality control (QC) reviews on NPA initiatives, user mappings, and platform data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with control requirements.
- Execute integrity checks and monitoring controls to identify data issues, control gaps, or process risks, escalating items as appropriate.
- Support responses to regulatory exams, audits, and internal control testing by preparing evidence, documentation, and issue tracking.
Reporting, Metrics & Insights
- Prepare, analyze, and deliver key NPA metrics through recurring monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Maintain and enhance dashboards and reporting tools to provide transparency into NPA volumes, status, risks, and performance trends.
- Identify emerging trends, risks, or operational inefficiencies and contribute insights to management.
Stakeholder & Program Support
- Partner with business leads, Control Managers, and platform users to support NPA execution, answer questions, and resolve issues.
- Contribute to training and communication efforts by supporting onboarding of new users and reinforcing standard processes and expectations.
- Participate in firmwide and Cross‑LOB working groups and initiatives as needed.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Build
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps, proposing enhancements, and supporting implementation efforts.
- Assist with maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge repositories.
- Support enhancements to existing tools, controls, and reporting capabilities, including testing, data validation, and documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong understanding of control management, risk, or regulatory environments (preferred).
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, dashboards, and operational process support.
- Strong attention to detail, judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to partner with stakeholders across levels.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with workflow or governance platforms preferred.
