Markets Account Reference Data Product Owner - Senior Associate
Join our Global Client Account Services (CAS) Change and Strategy team, where we serve the account and SSI reference data needs of JPMorgan's Commercial and Investment Banking sectors. We design and implement strategic reference data solutions across Market Execution, Clearing, and Prime Lines of business, ensuring data is fit-for-purpose, timely, and accurate to support JPMorgan's digital transformation vision.
As a Markets Account Reference Data Product Owner - Senior Associate in Operations, you'll lead transformation initiatives and support projects across the entire lifecycle, from research to system modifications. Collaborating with Product, Operations, and Technology teams, you'll focus on delivering project outcomes. Your role involves gathering requirements through various methods, evaluating information, and managing program coordination, including status updates and scorecards. Your expertise in reference data and data management will be crucial in delivering high-quality data to our growing business.
Job responsibilities
- Defines the product vision, roadmap, metrics, and OKRs with the Product Manager, ensuring alignment with the overall strategy while maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog and roadmap.
- Builds and sustains strong relationships with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and impacts.
- Owns the end-to-end delivery of features and capabilities, being accountable for project outputs and presentations to stakeholders.
- Collaborates with product owners and analysts to ensure coherent design, leading collaboration and feedback activities like retrospectives and knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrates the value of delivered work by documenting technical user stories and acceptance criteria for the feature team and allocating features to the product domain.
- Identifies and addresses problems, risks, and dependencies according to Agile principles, making decisions on releasing final work and accepting or rejecting completed work by the dev team.
- Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Drives scrum cadences in partnership with the scrum master, including sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, sprint planning, and daily scrums
- Leads initial/exploratory scoping and high-level analysis workshops
- Becomes highly knowledgeable in the relevant business domains and develops SME knowledge
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Has previous experience in product development and change management.
- Possesses experience in user story writing, story mapping, backlog prioritization, and understanding constraints that may affect the prioritization process.
- Has experience in release planning and product roadmap creation.
- Is able to analyze business needs and activities and translate them into solution requirements.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify root causes of problems and evaluate information with sound judgment, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Embraces an Agile project delivery mindset with knowledge and working experience of the Scrum framework.
- Is proficient with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and MS Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
- Is familiar with reference data and data analysis capabilities to support product design.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics
- Familiarity with the company's products and services -Markets, Prime Brokerage, Clearing
- Experience producing PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences
- Project management certification - PMP, PRINCE2, Scaled Agile
- Business process reengineering mind-set (i.e. Six Sigma)
- Experience with data analysis tools i.e. SQL / Alteryx / Tableau
