As a Margin & Collateral Manager within our Collateral Services Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting bilateral OTC derivative collateral requirements and all related settlements. You will primarily engage with buy-side clients such as Hedge Funds, Investment Advisors, and Asset Managers, fostering internal partnerships with the Markets, Sales, Prime Brokerage, Credit Executive, Middle Office and Line of Business Operations teams.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of the evolving financial services industry, contributing to regulatory efforts aimed at decreasing systemic and counterparty risk. Job Responsibilities
- Oversee efficiently and accurately the processing of both outgoing and incoming margin calls
- Ensure all transfers agreed are eligible under the appropriate legal document
- Account for the uncollateralized credit risk of a subset of Investment Bank clients, with responsibility for identifying and escalating fails and disputes in a timely and accurate manner to Credit/Risk Management, Collateral Risk Management and Operations Management
- Respond to client inquiries, and when needed, coordinate with the appropriate Front/Middle Office as well as the core processing area in order to facilitate resolution
- Escalate and resolve client disputes related to both collateral and trade settlement discrepancies
- Oversee Risk Mitigation (Operational, Financial and Reputational)
- Possess quality client Service and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain and build excellent relationships with both internal partners and external clients
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 5 years of Operations experience
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a great appetite to learn
- Excellent relationship-building and good communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work in a busy environment with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Understand the risks and adhere to the controls in place at all times
- An exceptional level of in-depth experience in production, client, people/team dynamics, risk and project management
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and oral and written communication skills
- Expertise in presentation, influencing and facilitation skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Previous exposure to financial products and derivatives instruments advantageous but not essential
- Process oriented with strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and with a passion for delivering business results
- Derivatives or Securities experience
