Legal Specialist Analyst

Job summary
As a Legal Specialist Analyst on the Litigation Subpoena Escalation Team in the Legal function, you will work with the team on complex and escalated civil, regulatory, and criminal subpoena matters across JPMorganChase ("JPMC") lines of business and concerning all bank products. You will assist the team in reviewing subpoenas and other legal correspondences such as grand jury subpoenas, regulatory CIDs, Search Warrants, National Security Letters, IRS asset discovery summonses, civil subpoenas, deposition notices for record certification as well as person most knowledgeable (PMK) depositions served to JPMC. You will provide legal support to attorneys by assisting with matter management, including ensuring accurate data entry for matters in the firm's matter management system, maintenance of case files in iManage, and assistance with the matter closure process. This role offers you the opportunity to leverage your strong legal background, effective and confident communication skills, and excellent attention to detail to support a large team of attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
Job responsibilities
- Review and analyze third-party subpoenas, court orders, and other legal documents
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of all subpoenas and legal requests received and processed
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments
- Ensure detailed and accurate documentation
- Collaborate with multiple attorneys on various tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in legal practice, with a focus on subpoena compliance, litigation, or regulatory compliance in the banking or financial services industry
- Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written - required
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- A 4-year undergraduate degree is preferred
- Skills in legal drafting, contract review, and/or knowledge of banking
- Law degree from a premier law school and membership in a jurisdictional organization
